Amanda Hesser, of Eagle River, recently graduated from Capella University with a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She is the daughter of Becky Hesser and David Horst.

Nathan Oliver of Eagle River, graduated from New Mexico State University during commencement ceremonies May 11 in Las Cruces, NM. Oliver graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned honors as a Crimson Scholar with a 3.9 GPA. Oliver is the son of Robin and Earston Hewitt and Ross and Ashleigh Oliver.

A pair of local residents — Emily Geppert of Chugiak and Karlyn Matson of Eagle River — have been named to the Dean’s List at the Savannah (Ga.) College of Art and Design for spring quarter 2013. Full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter receive recognition on the Dean’s List.

Kristie Rushing, of Eagle River, has made the President’s List for the spring 2013 semester at the State University of New York Canton. Rushing is a Dental Hygiene major and a 1998 graduate of Round Valley High School.

Benjamin Hamelin, of Eagle River, graduated from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with a Master of Arts in History from the UCCS College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Hamelin was one of more than 800 students to graduate on May 24, 2013 at the Colorado Springs World Arena.

Beth Martin and Donald Ramey, both from Eagle River, were among 1,150 Georgia Southern University recently recognized for excellence in academics on the 2013 spring semester President’s List. To be eligible, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester. Martin is a junior majoring in writing and linguistics; Ramey is a junior majoring in pre-business.

Kelsey Youngs, of Eagle River, graduated from Bowling Green State University during the school’s 276th graduation ceremonies held May 3-4 at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio. Youngs earned a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology.

Shana M. Joy, of Chugiak, and Will McDonough, of Eagle River, have been named to the Scholastic Honor Roll Spring term at Oregon State University. To be on the Honor Roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work and earn at least a 3.5 GPA. Joy is a senior Natural Resources major; McDonough is a junior Finance major.

Eagle River’s Erik Scott Moore and Nikolai Daniel Reitz have been named to the Deans’ List/Honor Roll for the spring semester of the 2012-13 academic year at the University of Nebraska. Moore is a junior Biological Systems Engineering Major. Reitz is a senior Biological Systems Engineering Major.
