Alaska salmon nuggets

1 can (1 pound) salmon

½ cup mashed potato

1 tablespoon grated onion

1 tablespoon butter or other fat, melted

¼ teaspoon each salt and celery salt

A dash of pepper

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 egg, well beaten

¼ pound sharp cheese

1 can dry bread crumbs

 

Drain and flake salmon. Combine all ingredients expect cheese and bread crumbs and mix thoroughly. Shape into ball the size of a walnut. Cut cheese into 3/8 inch cubes. Insert a cheese cube into the center of each fish ball and reshape. Roll in bread crumbs. Fry in deep fat at 375 degrees for 3 to 4 minutes, or until golden brown. Garnish and serve hot, plain or with a sauce. Serves 6.
