Eagle River man dies in accident
An Eagle River man died in a rollover accident early Tuesday morning, March 11.
According to Anchorage Police Department, a call came in about a single vehicle rollover accident shortly after 7 a.m.
The driver and sole occupant, 47-year-old Russell James, appeared to have lost control on the icy roads at the intersection of Kogru Place and Prudhoe Bay Avenue near Eagle River Road.
The vehicle, a 2010 Ford pickup, left the roadway and rolled over down an embankment. Witnesses and first responders administered first aid to James, who was unconscious and having difficulty breathing.
Attempts to revive James were unsuccessful.
Medics pronounced James dead at about 7:30 a.m.
