Minor cited after loud party
Anchorage police said they arrested Michael Travis Sterling, 20, of Chugiak after a neighbor reported a loud party with “10 carloads of people” at a Sierra Mesa Circle home just before 2 a.m. on March 11.
Sterling was not at the home when officers arrived around 3:30 a.m. because he was taking some people home, police spokeswoman Dani Myren said. Officers later cited him for minor consuming, furnishing alcohol to minors and minor operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol
Chugiak woman arrested for theft
Anchorage police said they arrested Natasha Lynn Melchert, 33, of Chugiak on March 8 after a friend said Melchert spent the night and then left with some items including cash. Melchert was arrested on a warrant and lodged at Anchorage Jail on charges of second-degree theft. Her bail was set at $500.
Anchorage police said a 25-year-old Eagle River man was arrested March 9 for assaulting a family member at an Eagle River residence. Jail information was not available.
In a separate incident on March 12, police said they arrested a 48-year-old woman for assault and malicious destruction of property after she assaulted a family member at a Chugiak home. The woman was taken to Anchorage Jail on $250 bail.
Anchorage police said they arrested Dia Alex Kuzmin, 25, of Delta Junction for driving under the influence on March 10 after an officer observed her driving erratically on the southbound Glenn Highway just before 4:30 a.m. and pulled her over at the South Birchwood Loop Road exit. Kuzmin’s breath-alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit. She was taken to Anchorage Jail; a bail amount was not available.
Charges are merely accusations; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty at trial or until a plea of guilty is accepted by the courts.
