Support Your Local Lions
The local Lions Clubs throughout the Chugiak-Eagle River area have coordinated or assisted multiple community service projects and events for over 50 years.
Beginning with the Eagle River Lions Club and now including the Sleeping Lady Mountain Lions, Chugiak Lions and our local teen Lions, the Bear Mountain Leos, volunteers have hosted and coordinated great community and family events including the children’s ice fishing derby, Independence Day celebration, Tree of Giving, free Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners, charity food baskets, vision screening, community Easter egg hunt, and even a fantastic full blown rodeo, just to name a few.
In addition, with the assistance of Pop-Warner Football and Knik Little League, we continue to manage and maintain the 40-acre Community Eagle River Lions Park. This is not a municipal park and does not receive any local funding.
The Eagle River Lions are hosting a couple of events in the next few weeks in which you have an opportunity to have a great time while helping to support and fund these projects and your amazing family park.
First, on March 29-30, we will be holding our semi-annual Gun Show at the Eagle River Lions Clubhouse. With approximately 60 vendors, gun raffles, and great food, this is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. The doors usually open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.
On April 5 the Eagle River Lions Club is hosting their second Annual “Pride of the Lions” Brewfest. There will be some great Alaskan micro-brews, two local home brewers, a silent auction, great food with prime rib headlining the menu, live music, and incredible door prizes including a Ruger 10-22 Breakdown rifle ($350 Value). Your ticket stub is all you need to win. Tickets are only $40 each.
