Fruit Cocktail Dessert

1 egg

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup sugar

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 No. 2 can fruit cocktail

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup chopped nuts

 

Beat egg until creamy and add sugar and beat. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg mixture and beat until smooth. Add vanilla and fruit cocktail that has been drained. Stir. Pour into dessert baking dish. Cover top with mixture of brown sugar and chopped nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
