Keith Jackson Browne, of Eagle River, received his Eagle Scout award during a Court of Honor held Sunday, May 5 at Riverside Community Church in Eagle River. Keith is a member of Boy Scout Troop 229, and earned his Eagle Rank from the Great Alaska Council, Eklutna District, on March 6, 2013. He is a high school sophomore at Eagle River High School and the son of Susan and Steff Browne.
For his community service project, Keith constructed four picnic tables with the help of Boy Scout volunteers from his Troop 229. The picnic tables are for the outdoor family park area at Riverside Community Church. He organized the construction schedule, raised funds for the project materials, and led the construction sessions.
Keith has earned many merit badges in his 10 years in Scouting, and his favorites are snow sports, swimming, and canoeing. He is an avid camper and he will work as a camp counselor at Boy Scout camp this summer. His college goal is to graduate from an engineering program, and pursue a career that he enjoys.
