A fun way to help
Volunteering: Another summertime adventure
With summer upon us there are going to be endless opportunities to get out and fish, hike, and play in the great outdoors we call our back yard. As we all settle into our summer routines and prepare for our summer adventures, if you are looking for something a little different, think about spending an afternoon volunteering in the community.
Volunteering is fun and can be a great family adventure. The Chugiak Senior Center is always a great place to volunteer, or just simply picking up litter along the road or at a park. The Lion’s 3rd of July celebration will be coming up soon and there are always plenty of opportunities to lend a helping hand there too.
In addition to the Sleeping Lady Lions meeting on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 7 p.m., the Eagle River Lions and Chugiak Lions also meet twice a month. If you are interested in helping out with community projects, or just a day of volunteering, stop on by or contact the Lions to see what projects they have coming up. We always love to see new faces, whether it is for a day or decade!
