Eagle River resident dies in rollover accident
Eagle River resident Ines Lara-Morfin, 48, died earlier today in a rollover accident on the Parks Highway.
Lara-Morfin, who was traveling north on the Parks Highway in a 2007 Chevrolet 2-door sedan, drove off of the highway and into the median between the north and southbound lanes around 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Lara-Morfin then overcorrected, crossed both northbound lanes and rolled approximately four times before the car came to rest on its roof in the ditch.
A nearby trooper was at the scene within three minutes. He was unable to find a pulse. Mat-Su Borough EMS pronounced Lara-Morfin dead at approximately 6:14 a.m.
Investigation into the cause and circumstance of the accident continues.
