Mother indicted for trying to kill her son

Tracia Hetty Jordan-Sainte, 40, was indicted on April 16 for attempting to kill her 3-year-old son. 

According to the District Attorney’s office, on April 8, 2014, Anchorage Police Department responded to the Safe Harbor Inn on Muldoon Road and found Jordan-Sainte’s son covered in blood. 

The child reported that his mother stabbed him in the neck with a pair of scissors. 

The child underwent surgery and is recovering. He is in the custody of the Office of Children’s Services.

Jordan-Sainte was indicted for one count of attempted murder in the first degree and one count of assault in the first degree. 

She faces a sentence of up to 99 years in prison if convicted.

The indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt.
