Chugiak’s Pegues earns top football honors

Senior named Lineman of the Year by coaches

Chugiak High senior Kenny Pegues was named 2013 Lineman of the Year.

Pegues also earned first-team honors at offensive guard and defensive line.

Chugiak’s Gabe Mingledorff was a first-team selection at running back and a second-team pick as a kick returner. The Mustangs’ Charley Pappas (center) was also a first-team selection.

Chugiak’s Jake Brownlee earned second-team honors at tackle.

Eagle River’s Ed Hall was named to the second team as a running back.

Large-schools head coaches made the selections.

Lynx edge Eagle River

Eagle River’s Cat Papasodora fired a match-high 292, but Dimond came away with a narrow win 3,262-3,203 on Friday Nov. 1.

Tristan Henderson fired a 287 for the Wolves.

 

South downs Chugiak

Chugiak’s Delaney Hawkins’s 289 tied the match high score, but South edged the Mustangs 3,272-3,103.
