Way to go, chamber
Congratulations to the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce.
Our local chapter recently won the 2013 Outstanding Chamber of Commerce award at the state chamber fall conference in Fairbanks.
The recognition is well deserved.
Our chamber works hard to promote local business and is responsible for some of the biggest — and most fun — events of the year.
Putting together the Bear Paw festival is no easy task. It’s a year-round job, and one the chamber has been doing tirelessly for nearly three decades.
And what’s Christmas without Santa and his reindeer? The chamber is also responsible for the annual Winter Wonderland and Merry Merchant Munch celebration.
The chamber’s bimonthly luncheons also keep the community in the know. They offer a venue for everyone from elected officials to athletic coaches to share information about what’s going on around town.
The chamber even helps to keep our town looking good by maintaining Chief Alex Park — not to mention sprucing up the old “Welcome to Eagle River” sign.
We know the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber is doing award-winning work. Now the rest of the state does, too.
