Leo Martin Ostendorf, 86

Leo Martin Ostendorf, 86, died on Oct. 6, 2014, at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage. Memorial service was held Oct. 10 at the Alpenglow Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel in Eagle River, with Bishop Fullmer officiating. Burial was at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.

Linda Anne-Martz Bower, 19

Linda Anne-Martz Bower, 19, died in Eagle River on Sept. 10, 2014. She was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, with whom she had just broken off the relationship.

Russell E. Bingham

Longtime Alaska resident, Russell Edward Bingham, died in his Eagle River residence on August 23, 2014. A service was held on August 29, followed by a burial at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marcela Rooks

Marcela Rooks died on Aug. 25 after suffering a stroke at North Valley Hospital in Whitefish, Mont. She was surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law, eight grandchildren, and two of her four great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou Barks, 73

Mary Lou Barks, 73, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2014. Her ashes were scattered at her beloved Kenai River. Mary Lou was born on Sept. 21, 1940 in Woodland, Penna. She had resided in Eagle River since 1985.
