Wolves, 'Stangs in Saturday showdowns

Eagle River senior Kelechi "KO" Madubuko will look to lead his team to its first win of the season when the Wolves host East at 2 p.m. today. Madubuko has scored seven touchdowns this season, including four on kick returns.

Eagle River's campus will host its first homecoming game and first Cook Inlet Conference football game when the Wolves (0-5 overall, 0-4 CIC) square off against East (3-2 overall, 2-2 CIC) at 2 p.m.

Later tonight, Chugiak (3-2 overall, 2-2 CIC) will host Dimond (2-3 overall, 1-3 CIC) at 7 p.m. in a game the Mustangs need to stay in the thick of the CIC playoff race.

East beat Dimond 25-13 last weekend.

In other CIC action today, West (3-2 overall, 2-2 CIC) plays Bartlett (3-2 overall, 2-2 CIC) at 2 p.m. at Anchorage Football Stadium.

Yesterday, Service improved to 4-0 in the conference and 5-0-1 overall with a 48-13 win over South, which fell to 3-3 overall and 3-2 in the CIC.
