Community council input sought
The Chugiak-Eagle River Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will soon be discussing possible items to be included in the area’s Capital Improvement Project (CIP) list. The list is used to identify potential projects for municipal funding in 2014.
According to Eagle River/Chugiak Parks and Recreation Manager Karen Richards, the best way to get involved with the CIP process is through local community councils. Among other agenda items, the councils will be discussing CIP priorities during September in advance of the Parks board’s Oct. 14 meeting.
Council meeting times in September are as follows:
The South Fork Community Council will meet at Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. in room D107 at Eagle River High.
The Eagle River Valley Community Council will meet Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at Gruening Middle School.
The Eagle River Community Council will meet Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Eagle River Town Center, room 170.
The Chugiak Community Council will meet Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Elsie Oberg Center.
The Birchwood Community Council will meet Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Beach Lake chalet.
