Scholarships awarded

The Aero Femme nonprofit organization and scholarship fund awarded two scholarships to graduates from the Alaska Military Youth Academy at the academy’s graduation ceremony on Friday, Aug. 30. Aero Femme founder and director Ariel Talen-Keller, of Eagle River, awarded the two $250 aviation scholarships to Alaska Military Youth Academy graduates Lexus L. Martin and Kristine M. Oria.

The aviation scholarships are in a series of scholarships offered to academy graduates.

Talen-Keller founded Aero Femme in 2010 to encourage and educate women of all ages to be involved in all types of aviation, according to a press release.

“Aero Femme is proud to support the Alaska Military Youth Academy and their graduates,” Talen-Keller said.
