Clifford Edward Gangestad

Clifford Edward Gangestad, of Whittier, died on Sept. 12, 2012 in Whittier. He was 66.

Mr. Gangestad was born on December 7, 1945 in Brainerd, Minn.

He met and married his first wife, Lisa Afra Weiss, and together they shared 38 adventure-filled years that included gold mining, commercial fishing, multiple businesses in Homer and Whittier.

He is survived by his wife, Patte; several siblings in Brainerd; many longtime friends; his adopted grandchildren, Andy, Robert and Amy; and his two great granddaughters, Ellee and Logan.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; and a sister.

Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. today (Thursday, September 20) at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 2800 O’Malley Road, in Anchorage. Military honors will be performed at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery on Friday, September 21 at noon.
