Marion M. McConville died peacefully at her Eagle River home on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 76.

HMC Billy J. Partlow, USN (Ret.) died on July 21, 2011 at his home in Palmer. He was 81.

Eagle River resident Jack L. Kimmer, 66, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at "The Cabin" on Funny River Road near Soldotna.

Victoria Parsons, of Chugiak, recently participated in the Concordia Language Villages language immersion program by attending El Lago del Bosque, the Spanish language village located in Cass Lake, Minn. Parsons is the daughter of Kelly Parsons of Chugiak.

Aaron C. Deal, of Eagle River, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, Jacobs School of Engineering in June, 2010. He was subsequently accepted into the Master's Degree program and received his Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering in June of 2011. He has accepted a position as a Verification Engineer with Hamilton Sundstrand, United Technologies Corporation, and will continue to live and work in San Diego.

Samantha Muldoon, daughter of Thomas Muldoon of Eagle River, was named to the Dean's List for the spring semester 2011 at the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn. Muldoon is an English major. To be included on the list, students must have a semester grade-point average of at least 3.8 and have completed 12 credits for which honor points are awarded. Students also cannot have any "unsatisfactory" or "incomplete" grades during the semester.

Eagle River's Corina Sue Bridges and Steven Paul Tabor were married on May 7, 2011 at Muldoon Baptist Church in Anchorage. Family friend Lou Hayes officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ray Michael and Sue Poole-Bridges of Dripping Springs, Texas, formerly of Eagle River. She is a 2008 graduate of Chugiak High School and employed at Carrs in Eagle River.

The groom is the son of Christina Tabor of Eagle River and the late Steven Mark Tabor. He is a 2007 Chugiak graduate and works for Trailer Craft of Alaska.

Sam Carlson, of Chugiak, will wed Christina Cummings, of Fairbanks, on July 30, 2011 at Birch Hill Recreation Area in Fairbanks. The bride is the daughter of Linda and Wally Kreider of Ketchikan and Warren and Cathy Cummings of Fairbanks. She is a 2011 graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a B.A. in Elementary Education. The groom is the son of Todd and Jenny Carlson of Chugiak. He works for the City of Fairbanks and is set to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2012. The couple will honeymoon in Colorado and live in Fairbanks upon their return.

Kristopher Wagoner, of Peters Creek, and Shelby Spicer, of Chugiak, were married on June 4, 2011 at Sheep Creek Lodge. The bride is the daughter of Sally Spicer and the late Larry Spicer. She is a Chugiak High graduate who is employed at Credit Union One. The groom is the son of David and Sonya Wagoner. He is a Chugiak High graduate and has a BAS from the Universtiy of Wyoming and a Master's from UAA.

Amanda Landon, of Chugiak, was named to the Dean's List at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for the spring semester. Landon, who is enrolled in the College of Business Administration, is the daughter of Mark and Kyong Landon of Chugiak.
