Palmer 3, Eagle River 0
Palmer was a rude visitor to Eagle River High on Sept. 1, handing the host Wolves a 25-15, 25-21, 25-13 loss.
Eagle River coach Katie Hulse said she was disappointed in her team’s performance after the Wolves opened the season with a win over Service and a solid showing at the Chugiak Invitational.
“Where’s the team from last week?” Hulse asked.
Morgen Wohrle, Tess Andersen and Lexie Curtis each had four kills to lead the Wolves.
South 3, Eagle River 0
The Wolves fell to 1-2 in the CIC with a 25-13, 25-14, 25-7 loss to South on Sept. 2 at South. Tess Andersen had four kills and 11 digs for Eagle River, which also got 10 digs each form Morgen Wohrle and Eyna Chacon.
Hulse said several of her players have been sick and injured of late, and said she expects the Wolves to return to form as the conference season gets rolling.
“I think it’s just been an off week,” Hulse said.
