The bride is the daughter of Michael and Susan Fischetti. She is a 2008 graduate of Anchorage Christian Schools. She is scheduled to graduate in May with a degree in biology with a minor in Bible studies from Biola University in La Miranda, Calif., where she also runs cross country. The couple met the week before college began, when they arrived at school early as members of their athletic programs. They were friends ever since, and began dating their sophomore year.
With the help of Nychele’s best friend Bailey Ellert, Ben made a surprise visit to Alaska this summer. While Nychele and Bailey were walking on the Coastal Trail, Ben suddenly appeared to offer his marriage proposal. She said yes, and the couple then had dinner at Simon and Seafort’s — just as Nychele’s parents had when they were engaged.
The couple has set a wedding date for Oct. 13, 2012, at Villa Del Sol in San Fullerton, Calif.
