Water Whip Pie Crust

Sharon said it never fails to produce a flaky pie crust.

¾ cup homogenized shortening

¼ cup boiling water

1 tablespoon milk

2 cups sifted flour

1 tablespoon salt


PLACE shortening in medium sized mixing bowl.

ADD boiling water and milk.

BREAK UP shortening with a fork.

BEAT rapidly until smooth and thick and holds soft peaks.

ADD sifted flour and salt.

STIR together until mixture cleans bowl and sticks together.

PICK UP and work into smooth dough.

ROLL OUT between waxed paper.

FILL with favorite filling.

BAKE accordingly.

** For pastry shells only, PRICK shell all over.

BAKE at 450 degrees, 14-19 minutes.
