Chugiak Elementary earns ASD's Gold Star award
Chugiak Elementary School was recently honored by the Anchorage School District with a Gold Star award for customer service, according to a press release sent out by the district.
Chugiak was honored after a “secret shopper” process that evaluated the school.
District director of communications Heather Sawyer said customer service is something the district takes very seriously.
“We expect all of our schools and departments to deliver good customer service. These award winners truly wowed the judges and showed that they have embraced the importance of customer service,” Sawyer said. “They recognize that customer service begins before the customer even walks in the door or picks up the phone, and continues long after they say, ‘goodbye.’”
ASD Superintendent Carol Comeau agreed.
“We know that our students do better when they learn in a welcoming environment. We also want our parents and community members to feel comfortable and welcome in our schools. That’s why customer service is critical to the day-to-day operation of the Anchorage School District,” she said.
The award was presented during the Anchorage School Board’s regular meeting on Monday, May 21.
