Community came together for Wells

Wednesday, June 6, 2012 - 13:48

A lot of wonderful people came together on May 24 at Eagle River Lions Club Park to help support Birchwood Community Council president Bobbi Wells, a community leader and classy lady who has done so much for the entire Chugiak-Eagle River-Birchwood area.

We would like to thank the many members of the Birchwood Community Council, Eagle River Lions Club, and the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, plus many National Guard members and community volunteers, for putting together such a wonderful benefit dinner for Bobbi. Special thanks to Eric Braendel for his musical entertainment, and to the many of Bobbi’s friends and neighbors who bid generously on silent auction items donated by local businesses. It was a very enjoyable and successful evening.

It was a pleasure to help someone who has given so much of her time, talents and energy to benefit our community. The evening was a reminder of how much our neighbors care for one another, and jump in to help when called upon. To Bobbi and her family: you are in our thoughts and our prayers.
