Hint: avoid APD homes when trespassing
Anchorage police said they cited and released three young men from Eagle River for trespassing after they were spotted on Chugiak property owned by an off-duty police officer as well as a neighbor at about 5:30 p.m. on June 22. Nickolas William Eugene Hogan and Sherian Lee Rubar, both 18, and Nathaniel James Yaw, 19, ran from the officer when he tried to talk with them about being on his property, police spokeswoman Marlene Lammers said. They were subsequently arrested.
Anchorage police said they arrested Lee Anne Margaret Stouff, 28, of Anchorage on charges of driving under the influence after responding to a report of a possible drunken driver around 4 a.m. on June 21 near the North Eagle River exit of the Glenn Highway. Another driver told dispatchers that Stouff’s vehicle was weaving back and forth between all three lanes, police spokeswoman Marlene Lammers said. Stouff had already pulled over when an officer contacted her. Her estimated blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit.
Other DUI arrests, according to police:
Gerald Mackey, 53, of Wasilla after a homeowner on Chugach Park Drive reported a strange vehicle parked in his driveway and apparently broken down around 10:15 p.m. on June 22. He also said the occupants appeared intoxicated. Mackey failed field sobriety tests and was lodged at Anchorage Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.
Michael McIntyre, 28, of Bethel after an officer stopped him at 4:30 a.m. June 23 at the Eklutna Village Road exit of the Glenn Highway for “poor driving behavior.” McIntyre failed field sobriety tests. His estimated blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit. He was lodged at Anchorage Jail in lieu of $250 bail.
Peter Michael Palmer, 37, of Chugiak after officers responding to a disturbance report on Laughlin Street at 8 a.m. on June 26 found he had driven to the location while intoxicated. Palmer’s estimated blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit. He was lodged at Anchorage Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail on felony DUI charges.
