It’s pageant time.
The 2013 Miss Chugiak-Eagle River Pageant will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at Mirror Lake Middle School. This year’s event features nine local contestants, who will compete for the title of Miss Chugiak-Eagle River and Miss Chugiak-Eagle River Outstanding Teen.
This year’s pageant theme is “Proud to be an American.”
Competing for the “Miss” title this year are UAA students Sveta Solovyova, 20, and Carolyn Layne, 19; Chugiak seniors Maggie Wallace and Kristianna Coburn, both 17; and Anchorage Christian Schools senior Lillian Crayton, 18.
The four contestants for the “Teen” title include Chugiak High students Victoria Jones, 16, Harper King, 14, and Ripleigh Campnell, 14, along with homeschooler Regina Lochner.
Each contestant is competing not only for scholarship prizes, but also to advance a cause through individual platforms.
