Spreading Christmas Cheer

Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 19:00

From Palmer to Eagle River and beyond, Chugiak Lions, Eagle River Elks, Eagle River Lions, Sleeping Lady Mountain Lions and the Palmer Lions bring that cheer to our families. They help bring a little bit of happiness into families of those in need.

This time of year all of these organizations come together to spread the Christmas cheer to as many as they can. Whether it is a much needed bed for some children, or a child smiling as they see Santa’s face, nothing is too small, or too large. These organizations help make a family on hard times maybe have a little bit of cheer in their week.

Eagle River Lions and the Eagle River Elks, as they have done for more than 20 years will be providing families in need with food baskets for Christmas Saturday, Dec. 15.

Families who qualify will be contacted by the chair person of a place and time to pick up their baskets on Saturday. If you would like more information please contact the Elks at 694-3557 or visit them on Facebook or www.elks.org.

Eagle River Elks will be holding their annual Free Community Christmas Party at the Elks Lodge on Eagle River Road, Sunday, Dec. 16 from 12 to 3 p.m. Please come and have a wonderful time making crafts with your children. The Elks will provide snacks and drinks. Santa will arrive at 1 p.m. with gifts and will make wishes come true for the children. There will be sleigh rides for all, so dress warm for this fun ride. Please be a part of this annual community event and bring your children.
