Bullet lands near toddler

Anchorage police said they received a report on Dec. 9 around 12:15 a.m. that someone accidentally fired a weapon in an apartment on Heritage Court in Eagle River. The bullet went through a wall and landed near a toddler, police said. No one was injured. A case is pending. No further information was available.


Screen time stolen

Anchorage police said a resident of Birchwood Spur Drive reported that someone entered the home between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Dec. 6 and stole two flat-screen televisions, a Play Station 3, and several games. A case is pending.


Domestic violence reported

Anchorage police said they arrested a 51-year-old Eagle River man on Dec. 9 for assault and family violence after he slapped a family member in the head. He was taken to Anchorage Jail on $1,000 bail.


Charges are merely accusations; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty at trial or until a plea of guilty is accepted by the courts.
