Demand local representation
Does Eagle River/Chugiak deserve a seat on school board?
After many years of excellent representation does Eagle River need a voice?
We have had members Crystal Kennedy and Debbie Ossiander to name notables.
But we have none now.
An amendment to the present district representation failed Dec. 3 at the Assembly. Bill Starr voted yes; Debbie Ossiander voted no.
Kenai Peninsula Borough School District voters decided to use local representation by voting yes in 2002. It worked, and now outlying communities have a voice.
Results local representation are lower costs and better schools.
The Assembly denied you a chance to decide.
Come to Jitters this Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. to sign a petition or get a sheet and go get 10 neighbors to sign.
Eagle River deserves a seat or two on your school board. Otherwise it is just Anchorage’s School Board.
