Blue Devils win state title

The Mustang Hockey Association’s Blue Devils won the PeeWee Tier II Major state championship in exciting fashion, earning a 3-2 overtime victory over the Alaska Wolves on Sunday, March 3 at Ben Boeke Ice Arena.

Bradley Mackin was the hero for the Blue Devils, scoring in extra time on an assist from Grant Epple.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first, Hannah Lowery scored an unassisted goal to tie the game. The Wolves responded and carried a 2-1 lead into the second period.

Zach Plucinski knotted the score at 2-2 with an unassisted tally in the second period.

Blue Devils netminder Trent Burnham stopped 33 of 35 shots for the win.
