Two domestic violence arrests reported

Anchorage police said they arrested a 59-year-old Eagle River woman for assault on April 14 after responding to a report of a disturbance. The woman, who had been drinking, assaulted a friend or family member, police spokeswoman Dani Myren said. The woman was taken to Anchorage Jail; a bail amount wasn’t available.

In a separate, unrelated arrest on April 15, police said they arrested a 48-year-old woman in Chugiak after she assaulted a friend or family member. She was taken to Anchorage Jail on $250 bail plus release when sober.

Charges are merely accusations; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty at trial or until a plea of guilty is accepted by the courts.
