Taylor Larson, of Eagle River, will marry Kari Hockett, of Burlington, Wash., during a ceremony Aug. 10, 2013 in Anacortes, Wash.
The groom-to-be is the son of Chris and LaAnn Larson. He graduated from Chugiak High in 2003 and from Washington State University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. In 2008, he obtained his master’s degree in Accounting from WSU. He is currently employed as a CPA with Raich Ende & Co. PLLC in New York City.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dan and Cheryl Hockett. She graduated from Burlington High School in 2003 and from Washington State University in 2007 with bachelor’s degrees in Sports Management and Communication. She earned her Juris Doctoroate from Seattle University in 2012 and is currently an attorney for Herrick Feinstein in New York City.
The couple was engaged in August of 2012 while on a trip to wine country in California. Taylor proposed overlooking vineyards during a trip to celebrate Kari’s completion of the New York bar exam.
They first met while living in the same dorm during their freshman year at WSU. They reconnected in 2010 while Kari was doing an internship in Alaska and Taylor was home visiting. They spent hours talking and enjoying each other’s company during that time and started dating shortly thereafter when they both returned to Seattle.
