Get ready for a rodeo!
The Eagle River Lions would like to thank everyone for all their support throughout the year and for your assistance in our hosting another fantastic Independence Day Celebration at our community park.
Over the past 50 years, the Eagle River Lions have tried to make improvements in our 40-acre park to accommodate our growing community. The park that started as a small quonset hut surrounded by trees has developed into an amazing section of land dedicated to youth and families in Eagle River.
This week, we are adding another incredible event and venue to all the football, baseball, tennis and basketball courts and picnic pavilions constructed over the years.
We are having a full fledged rodeo with all the trimmings!
Starting with bull riding and barrel racing Friday night and continuing through Sunday’s closing ceremonies, the Eagle River Lions, along with the Homestead Lounge and Rodeo Alaska, will be conducting the First Annual Bear Paw Rodeo.
There will be multiple events over the three day period with food, beverages (including a beer garden) and barn dances on both Friday and Saturday nights and an awards banquet Sunday afternoon.
A couple things to remember: There are no dogs allowed in the park, and since food and beverages will be sold, no coolers will be permitted through the security entrance. Also, parking is limited and there will be a minimal charge in order to fund this first-time event.
Please bring the family and enjoy the festivities!
