Relay for Life seeks volunteers
Relay for Life needs some help.
An informational meeting for those interested in volunteering or learning more about Eagle River’s annual event will be held Friday, Oct. 25 from 8-9 p.m. at Jitters.
“This is an initial gathering of the forces,” said event chair Annette Vrolyk.
Several people who dedicated a lot of time to the event in the past recently stepped down, Vrolyk said. This is a great opportunity for new volunteers and fresh ideas, she said.
Any and all who want to help out are welcome, Vrolyk said.
The relay is a large event, she said, and having several volunteers makes the planning and coordinating process run smoother.
“The more people you have involved … the easier it is on everyone,” Vrolyk said.
The event, which raises money for cancer, won’t exist without volunteers, Vrolyk said.
This year’s Relay for Life is tentatively scheduled for July 2014 at the McDonald Center.
