$6,000 worth of items stolen from Chugiak home
A Chugiak man returned home after being gone for about three weeks to find an estimated $6,000 worth of items missing from his residence on the 18000 block on the Old Glenn Highway, according to Anchorage Police.
The burglary occurred sometime between Oct. 2 and Oct. 21, APD spokesperson Dani Myren said. The resident reported that a friend told him a door and window at his house were open Oct. 21. The resident came home the following day, Myren said.
Among the items stolen were about 20 knives, vintage fishing reels, a gold nugget with quartz, a TV-DVD combination and his birth certificate, Myren said.
• Wasilla’s Connor Patrick Kimbrell, 33, was charged with driving under the influence after he was stopped for speeding traveling outbound on the Glenn Highway in Chugiak at 1:17 a.m. on Oct. 24.
Kimbrell provided a breath sample of .094, Myren said. The legal limit is .08.
He was taken to Anchorage Jail with bail set at $1,000.
• Anchorage’s Anna Claudine Smith, 35, was charged with malicious destruction of property, assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, violation of conditions of release and driving under the influence after she was stopped for speeding on the Glenn Highway in Chugiak at 6:13 p.m. on Oct. 25. Smith provided a breath sample of .138, Myren said.
As an officer was placing handcuffs on Smith, she head butted him with the back of her head and broke his glasses, Myren said. Smith was taken to Anchorage Jail with bail set at $3,000 plus a third-party custodian.
• Chugiak’s Aaron Michael Ledlow, 32, was charged with driving under the influence after he was stopped for speeding traveling outbound on the Glenn Highway in Eagle River at 3:24 a.m. on Oct. 27. Ledlow provided a breath sample of .221, Myren said.
He was taken to Anchorage Jail with bail set at $500.
Charges are merely accusations; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
