Uploading Large AD's to the Alaska Star
Please
Remember to contact your sales rep when you upload your AD or it will
be ignored.
To
upload your AD, please follow the steps below:
Download
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Software:
PC:
Click here (approx
250K, will take a few minutes on a 56k Connection and seconds on Cable
modem or DSL) You will need Winzip
to open the file.
Macintosh:
Click here
and click on Download link.
Run
the file you just downloaded, click the HOST tab in the program
and enter the details as follows:
Site: ftp.alaskastar.com
User Name: akspub
Password: ads!
Click
on 'Remote' tab, double click incoming folder and just
drag the file you want to upload into the white box.

Asked Questions
Why
can I not just email the AD?
Larger ADs may be rejected when sent by email because the filesize
exceeds the limits set by the mail server.
Can
I use my own FTP software?
Certainly. If you have your own FTP software installed just enter
the site, username and password into your current client and upload
as normal to the 'incoming' folder.
