Longtime Chugiak resident dies in light sport aircraft crash
Authorities have identified the pilot killed in an experimental aircraft crash along Alaska Railroad tracks near Birchwood over the weekend.
John Jeffrey Bennett, 54, of Anchorage, died after his two-person experimental light sport aircraft crashed along the tracks about two miles north of Birchwood Airport, according to information from the Alaska Railroad and National Transportation Safety Board.
