Simple thanks is not enough
For 30 years as editor of The Star, I wrote of the dedication of Chugiak Volunteer Fire and Rescue members, detailing everything from unusual deliveries of babies to harrowing climbs to treat victims in the depths of Thunderbird Falls.
Underage drinking hurts all
My name is Leilani Mahi. I am representing Gruening Middle School, Mrs. Otte's class. I am writing to inform the people of Alaska about underage drinking. One out of five drinks in Alaska is consumed by a minor.
