It's time for Starr to resign
Assemblyman Bill Starr needs to resign. Ever since the release of “the tape,” he has been running around trying to spin his comments to make himself look good. He's not fessed up and said the conversation was sophomoric, stupid or anything of that nature. All he has done is whine about his self-perceived ill treatment and file a flurry of complaints with the Alaska Public Offices Commission against his write-in opponent.
Starr condoned Dan Coffey's campaign fund activity by not immediately condemning it when the statements were made. It was Starr who used the f-bomb (it's an audio tape, for Pete's sake) and Starr who chose to be derogatory in his description of police union members when the union would not endorse him in this election.
Starr claims he is the best representative for this area. I certainly don't believe so. I find his actions to be an embarrassment and definitely not representative of the people here.
