Lady Lions offer thanks

The Sleeping Lady Mountain Lions Club would like to thank the following local businesses and individuals who donated items for our Valentine's Scholarship Fundraiser last month: Artworks, Enstar, the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center Give Back Project, Kris Jez, Alaska Fitness Innovations, Antique Comb and Clipper, Bear Mountain Leos, Blockbuster Video, The Book Shelf, Katelyn Burns, Garcia's Cantina and CafŽ, Walt Hays, Aina Lenda, Denise Linnell, Oopsie Daisy, Picture This, Ri-Generation Nutrition, Terri Shanley, Spenard Builders Supply, Sharon Stewart, Stress Away, Darlene McLaughlin and The Tangled Skein.

We raised more than $6,500 for our scholarship program for local graduating seniors this spring.

Many thanks to the Mirror Lake Middle School Jazz Band, who put on a fantastic show during dinner. Their music had everyone toe tapping and ready to dance.

We also thank Nancy Vik's Culinary Class from Chugiak High School for preparing all the delicious desserts. Next year, we hope to get the class to cater the entire event.

We had a full house and thank all who attended.
