By DAVID MORSE

Corey Cogdell of Eagle River led the U.S. Olympic women's team trapshooting trials from start to finish March 9 through March 11 with a final score of 475 targets over the three-day ordeal at Hill Country Sports Shooting Center.

Cogdell, the 2007 Pan American Games winner and the World Cup bronze medalist in Korea, won the event by a comfortable 12-target margin over Joetta Dement of Renton, Wash. Early threat Collyn Loper of Indian Springs, Ala., finished sixth.

The 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing, China, Aug. 8 through Aug. 24.
