The Chugiak High School boys soccer program plans to hold a garage sale/fundraiser at the high school May 10. The team is in need of saleable items, said event organizer Marilyn Campnell.
“We have parents with trucks who are standing by to come and get your things,” said Campnell. “All you have to do is call me.”

Campnell said the program includes at least 40 families so the potential for items is already large, but the program is willing to accept donations.
With a game schedule tentatively slated to begin Monday, Chugiak High School boys baseball coach Bill Lierman said the team may have to begin the season without having practiced on their home field.
Lierman said Sunday that it is unlikely the Mustangs will be able to practice or play on Oberg Field until mid-May. The start date for the high school season has been revised to May 10 at Mulcahy Stadium.
But Lierman said that is all speculative following Friday and Saturday's 20-inch snowfall.
Fortunately the Mustangs had the advantage of playing in Reno, Nev., in April, where the team posted a 2-win, 1-loss record. That may provide the local baseball team with some benefit as they look to improve on their second-place finish of last season.
