Daniel Dale Edward Barnes

Daniel Dale Edward Barnes died Oct. 31, 2009, in Chugiak.

A celebration of life was held Nov. 7 at Evergreen's Eagle River Funeral Home.

He was born Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 1979, to Steve and Cindy Johnson of Eagle River.

His family wrote, "Daniel is the love of our life and will be both remembered and missed forever. Our comfort comes from our Savior Jesus Christ, whose joy at Daniel's life fills the void left by his leaving us so soon. He touched the lives of so many people, his friends are too numerous to list. Daniel never met a stranger, he would do anything for anyone."

Daniel worked as a carpenter, but was a jack-of-all-trades, if he couldn't figure it out he would find you somebody who could. Daniel attended University of Alaska Anchorage, Automotive Technology Program and often spent spare time helping family and friends with minor car repairs. Daniel would have completed his enlistment in the Army National Guard in December and was looking forward to joining his friends, in the service of his country.

Daniel was "Uncle Danny" and his love of children spilled over onto every child he met, filling even for a moment, the time he missed with his own precious children Angel and Gavin, he watches over all of them now and forever.

Daniel is survived by his children, Angel Daylene and Gavin Patrick Barnes, of North Carolina; mother Cindy and stepfather Steve Johnson; sister Rebekah Hoffman and her son Tanner Dale; sister Jillian and brother-in-law Lincoln Hughes, and their children Allyson, Isabelle, Riley and Ethan; brother Banjo and his fiancée' Shyana Belk and their children Elliott and Peyton Barnes; Uncle Kenny, and cousins, Willie, Kenny Jr. and Andy Barnes all of Chugiak.
