Zuehsow, 65, former resident, Army veteran

Aug. 2, 1944 - Dec. 19, 2009

Former Eagle River resident James Zuehsow died of a heart attack at Providence hospital in Anchorage on December 19, 2009.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagle River Elks on January 1, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, a charity for animals or a charity of your choice.

James was born in Washington, D.C., Aug. 2, 1944. He grew up in Chicago and Villa Park, Ill..

He served in the Army at the Arctic Test Center, Delta Junction from 1964- 66.

He was a longtime resident of Eagle River and retired from AT&T in 2008.

He is survived b y his mother, Shirley Zuehsow of Sun City, Ariz., his sister Linda Phillips of Spring City, Utah. And his brother Richard Zuehsow of Ashburn, Va, also 11 nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews.
