Brandon Lajoie had a hat trick and two assists and Logan Dudinsky scored two goals as Eagle River cruised to an 8-0 non conference win over Juneau-Douglas on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the McDonald Center in Eagle River.
Logan Rachow, Josh Linn and Nick Silance also scored for Eagle River, which got 12 saves from Ryan Gray. The Wolves outshot the Crimson Bears 43-12.
Eagle River — currently in fourth place at 5-4-1 in the Cook Inlet Conference — has a chance to make up some ground in the CIC standings with its next game, a Tuesday, Jan. 17 contest against second-place Service (8-2-1). The puck drops at 6:30 p.m. at Ben Boeke Arena in Anchorage.

CHUGIAK 6, WEST VALLEY 3

Chugiak came from behind against a second straight non conference opponent Saturday, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to pst a 6-3 win over West Valley at the McDonald Center.
The Wolfpack got goals from Hunter Pierce and Coleman Baxter in the first period, and held that advantage until midway through the second period. But Zacharay Krajnik broke the ice with 6:12 to go in the period, and John Hammer pulled Chugiak even late in the period to knot the game heading into the third.
Krajnik and Hammer weren't done yet though. Krajnik got the go-ahead goal with 8:34 left in the game, and Hammer made it 4-2 when he scored with 4:36 left. Krajnik added some insurance when he completed his hat trick with a shorthanded goal at the 2:20 mark and Luke Momblow provided the final score just before the buzzer.
Chugiak is off until Friday, Jan. 20, when the Mustangs will take on Soldotna of the Northern Lights Conference at 7:15 p.m. at the McDonald Center. Chugiak's next CIC game is Tuesday, Jan. 24 against Dimond.
