PREP HOOPS ROUND-UP: Chugiak girls stay undefeated in CIC play

Chugiak improved to 2-0 in the Cook Inlet Conference with a dominant 78-12 girls basketball win over Service on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Chasity Selden led the way with 16 points for Chugiak, which also got 14 from Eva Palmer, 11 from Layla Beam and 10 each from Randi McMullen and Courtney Kuhlman.

The Mustangs return to action Saturday, Jan. 21 for a 3 p.m. showdown at Chugiak against perennial power Wasilla of the Northern Lights Conference.

At Eagle River Tuesday, Chyna Finley’s team-high 15 points weren’t enough to keep the Wolves from dropping to 0-2 in the CIC with a 53-31 loss to Bartlett.

Mustangs, Wolves fall in Tuesday action

The Chugiak boys dropped to 1-1 in the Cook Inlet Conference with a 49-47 loss to Service on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Service.

Also Tuesday, Eagle River fell to 0-2 in the CIC with a 59-53 home loss to Bartlett.
