UPDATE (6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28):

APD said Jereme Perino was taken into custody Tuesday after police received a tip from the public about his wherabouts. Public information officer Renee Oistad said Perino was arrested near the Muldoon Road Taco Bell restaurant in Anchorage.

Police are looking for an Eagle River man they say met a woman on Craigslist and later assaulted her and another woman after breaking into their home through a doggie door.

According to police spokeswoman Renee Oistad, Jereme L. Perino, 28, is wanted on warrants for first-degree robbery, fourth-degree theft, first-degree vehicle theft, third-degree assault and first-degree burglary. As of Tuesday afternoon Perino was still on the loose.

Police were called to a home in the Eaglewood neighborhood on Monday, Feb. 27 at around 12:30 p.m. after Perino allegedly broke in through the pet door in the garage. Oistad said that after assaulting two female residents, Perino stole a 1996 Ford Explorer from the garage.

Oistad said one of the women had met Perino “a few weeks prior” to the alleged crimes on the popular website. She said the injuries two women sustained in the attack were non life-threatening.

According to court records, Perino has two prior criminal convictions for DUI in 2014 and 2015.
