Chinooks remain undefeated

The first-place Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks ran their record to 2-0 with a 13-9 win over the Anchorage Glacier Pilots on Friday, June 15, at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage.

Trailing  7-5 after five innings, the Chinooks racked up eight runs in the final four innings. Five Chinooks had multiple hits and four different players drove in two runs apiece.

Griffin Gum went 3-for-6 with one RBI and scored a run for Chugiak-Eagle River. Brent Fukushima and Adam Humes each went 2-for-3 for the Chinooks. Humes drove in two runs while Fukushima had two RBIs and scored a run. 

Tim Duxbury was the winning pitcher and Ryan Sullivan earned the save. 

The Chinooks are off Saturday before taking on the Anchorage Bucs at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at Mulcahy.

The team's twice-postponed home opener is now scheduled for Monday, June 18 at Loretta French Park in Chugiak. Opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m, with the first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.
